  2. On the 20th of April 1770, Captain James Cook landed in the Eastern part of Australia and named it New South Wales.
    The ship he sailed on was called the 'Endeavour'.

  3. Captain cook came to Australia and after that more and more explorers came as well and explored other parts of australia.

    Captain cook had Six siblings Jane cook, John cook, Mary cook Christiana cook,William cook and Margaret cook.

    He also had six children Elizabeth cook, Nathaniel cook, George cook, Hugh cook, James cook and Joseph cook.

  5. On the 29th of April, Captain Cook entered Botany Bay, and when he sailed back to England, he said that the Eastern part of Australia is called 'New South Wales'.

  8. Captain James cook was the first to land on Australia in New South Whales at Botany bay.Captain James cook got killed by the Aboriginals. Then Captain Arthur Phillip was the first to claim Australia.

  9. Abel Tasman discovered Tasmania on the 24th of November 1642. He was born in 1603. Abel Tasman died on the October the 10th 1659. This explorer died when he was only 56 years old.
