What's with poetry?

Poetry

We may not go out of our way to deliberately produce poetry everyday, but poetry can be found in what we write and how we speak all the time. From rhythm and rhyme, to sounds and images in words, you're probably a poet and you don't even know it (sorry, we couldn't help it). In this digibook, Matt from Sydney Story Factory explores the rules of poetry and when they can be broken, and how writing poetry might help you scratch an itch you didn't even know you had.

Pack your bag for rainforest trip.

Get ready for a trip to a rainforest. In this game you will choose the most suitable clothing from a sales catalogue. Match items from four categories: tops; bottoms; footwear; and other stuff.

If you need to, you can check the meaning and pronunciation of tricky words as you go. Rainforest pack for your trip provides a great way to practise and improve your English skills.

Week 9 GR Blog

Have a look at these character profiles on the Official Roald Dahl website. My favourite is Violet Beauregard from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, who turned into a giant blueberry. Write a comment below and let us know who your favourite character is and why?

Why Recycle?

What happens to the rubbish we throw away?

In this primary science game you will meet four students eating their lunch. Each one uses or disposes of their plastic lunch bag in a different way.

Predict where the bags might end up and how they could affect the environment. Find out about plastics and the environmental benefits of recycling.

Come up with some good ideas about how we can reduce our effects on the environment and post them on our blog.
